Dear International Colleagues and Partners,
It is our pleasure to announce that Faculty of Business, Dokuz Eylül University will hold its 18th International Week on 12th -16th May 2025 in Izmir, Turkiye. We would like to invite you and your colleagues to participate in this week where we host both teaching and administrative staff. The aim of the week is to offer our students an international and intercultural experience and to intensify cooperation with our partner universities.
The lecture topics that will be covered in our 18th International Week are ‘’Global Issues’’ in business and management, economics, political science & international relations, and tourism management. We expect participating lecturers to deliver a modular course of 9 hours on their selected topics to the same group of students for three consecutive days. Lecturers are free to follow any teaching method they prefer in their lectures. They can give lectures or encourage students to join the lecture through interactive teaching by organizing workshops, projects, presentations or initiating role plays and simulations. The lecturers will greatly contribute to our aim of offering students an international and intercultural experience by teaching these classes in a way inherent to their culture and background.
We will hold information sessions and workshops for administrative staff on Turkish (Business) Culture, Global Citizenship , and Services offered to incoming students at the Faculty in parallel to classes. The guest administrative staff is also expected to present their school / institutions to enhance mutuall collaboration.
We would like our participants to enjoy the beautiful city of İzmir by the Aegean Sea and its surroundings. Therefore, we will start the International Week on Monday, 12th of May, 2025 with a guided city tour. The kick-off meeting will take place on Tuesday, 13th of May, 2025. Guest lecturers will teach the regular classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Sessions for the administrative staff will be parallel to the course schedule. On Wednesday night the dean will host our guests for dinner. On Friday, 16th of May, 2025, we plan to take our participants to a tour of ancient Greco-Roman city of Pergamon.
